In home improvement store, a customer put a piece of long metal (about 6 ft long) in her cart. It was protruding. An employee ran into it and caused a lot of bleeding around his ear and possibly broke his hearing aid. Is the customer liable / solely liable? And what is the liability?

I’m moving into a new apartment in a couple of weeks, and I’m going to go buy a bunch of new furniture. But I’m not too sure as to what color furniture (sofa, tables, dinette, etc.) I should get. What will go good with an apartment with walls that are white, and carpet that is sort of a “dirty” white, but white nonetheless.

Right now I’m thinking the obvious black but what do you think?

I just got a job canvassing neighborhoods getting “leads” from people who agree to get a free estimate on their home improvement. Since part of my pay is by commission, I need to get as many people to get this free estimate as possible.

What things should i say to convince them to do it? What would convince you if someone came to your door? Thanks.

I am trying to speculate on the profits to be expected from a proposed property development scheme on a spread sheet and would like to devise a formula that calculates the optimum selling price per unit and expected profits. Are there any formula’s that anyone is aware of.

The variables I have involved so far are
1. Number of units
2. Overall build cost of the entire project
3. Recommended selling price per unit

Are there any other variables I should consider adding

Im looking to buy a house that needs a good amount of work. I dont have extra money to pay for the remodeling. But I have read that i can possibly get some sort of home improvement mortgage that will give me extra money to fix up the house. Rather than buying the house and then having to get a reappraisal and then a home equity loan.

I was told that you could deduct home improvement expenses until the year you sold your house. Is this true?
